| Completely
useless lists: Best movies
May
1, 2004
Best
movie lists are stupid. How many Oscar winning movies
or movies recommended by friends have we seen where we
walked out muttering, “I just wasted $18 bucks!”
Woody
Allen always believed that all film is art – and
art shouldn’t be generalized or awarded. “Art”
is a subjective medium and has a different affect on each
person.
Yet,
we still all have our favorites. Therefore, we’d
like to offer up some of our best movie lists. We still
think best movie lists are stupid, but rather than just
ignore their existence, we tried to spice them up a bit.
These may not be our all-time, favorite movies –
they're just a snapshot of some we really like (or had
a wise ass comment about). Hope you'll consider renting
one or two of these that you may not be familiar with.
Enjoy.
