Out with the Old...

I've decided, after more than two years paying this space occasional attention, to refocus my efforts and give this blog purpose. I eradicated my archives, which consisted mostly of random thoughts that weren't nearly as amusing as I thought at the time, and am giving myself a clean slate.

Gone are my posts about killing wasps, shoo-ing bears, and opining over presidential debates. No more entries related to shaving facial hair, why the NFL top brass are hypocrites, or my general disgust with Big Government.

Instead, I'm going to concentrate on topics on which I can speak with a measure of authority: the intersection of public relations, information security, and privacy.

As this blog develops I'll comment on current events, offer my perspective and, over time, do what I can to add to what I see as an ongoing and important debate. I'll share thoughts from friends and colleagues who also have something to say in this niche, and I'll try to link to other useful sources.

Where I have skin in the game, I'll strive to be candid. After all, I believe my industry relationships should serve as points of credibility for this blog; this blog should not serve as a platform for shameless plugging of my vested interests.

I look forward to communing with you all regularly.
