Hot Buttered Soul (1969)

I
was home on a Saturday night and turned this album up
very loud as I was playing it. There are only 4 songs
on it - 2 on each side (if you can remember the days of
vinyl), so the grooves are long and sexy. And it occurred
to me that if it wasn't already appropriately titled Hot
Buttered Soul, that it could've been called "Too Much
Soul For Any One Human Being". Because it's too funky.
The
next day my upstairs neighbor left a note for me under
my door. Her note said this exactly: "Hello, I'm in 3B
and I absolutely MUST know what that funky/piano/tribal/male
vocal album was on Saturday night @ 10PM."
I've
been buttering her buns ever since.
