A
Perfect Murder
Unbroken (2004)
Review

Picture
a side-project between Motorhead and Sick Of It All, ending
in Unbroken, and sounding as though it were recorded
on fast-forward. The only breathing room allowed the listener
(or the band) comes from the occasional gaping breakdowns
one could almost fall into.
Typical hard core? No, that's plainness bordering on insult.
Three guitars keep left, right and center occupied, and
the drums could be Dave Grohl's audition tape for Slayer.
That leaves the bass guitar, which is perfectly enormous,
especially on "Speak Without Faith," a scene
preservation anthem of sorts, and the top anger management
seminar theme song of the year. "Another Day, Another
Plague", might inadvertently, borrow part of a riff
from Metallica, but you won't be seeing APM take the same
creative plunge Generica chose – we can hope.
Their 2003 debut Cease to Suffer is followed
nicely by this rupture, and fans of metallic hardcore
will not be let down.
