Immune (2003)

Gargling
sulfuric acid like he's trapped on a death metal album
one second, then practically serenading you the next,
Chad Moore (along with Rocky Gray, and Lance Gavin) can
make three people seem like six. The songs match the vocals
step-for-step, going from lockstep riffing to spacious
choruses that beg for, and sometimes get, guitar solos
heard on less somber recordings.
Immune's titanium heaviness with hints of black
metal, death metal, and industrial is offset with rich
melody that climbs up out of the amps it came from
the kind of album that makes you ache to hear anything
that came before it, even demos or rehearsal tapes done
on boom-boxes.
