Bitch and moan-of-the-day: BANK ONE HOME EQUITY LINE
You know what’s good about having your own website? The concept of bitching and moaning, and believing that people are actually reading it. Of course, if you starting off your blog or story with a title “Bitch and Moan”, you may actually distract people from reading it. I’m still on the fence as to determining whether people like to read about other people’s problems or not.
Regardless, I’m still going to bitch and moan today. Here’s my bitch and moan-of-the-day:
Bank One Home Equity Line mortgage department. You’d think a big financial lending machine like Bank One would have their shit together. I borrowed a huge chunk of money from them back in June, and for nearly 6 months I have been fighting with them regarding the payment plan I was originally signed up for. Aside from the fact that they have a 1-800 number that takes between 30-40 minutes to actually speak to someone, each time I did speak to someone they always said, “Yes, Mr. Walls, you are absolutely correct – the account information is wrong, and we will fix it for you.” This phrase was uttered, no exaggeration, 6 times over six months, and each month I’d get my statement and the problem was not fixed. On top of that, they would levy a finance charge each month for past due payments that I didn’t owe.
I finally gave up and closed the account, switching my loan to someone else. Guess what? I just got my statement and they charged me a $250 penalty for closing my account within a year.
If you’ve reached this blog via a search engine, searching for info on BANK ONE HOME EQUITY LINE, please be advised: DO NOT borrow money from them no matter how nice and accommodating their sales reps are. Once they've got you, their customer service people are complete morons.
