Scrubs
I don't watch a lot of TV. Sorry, let me qualify that. I don't watch a lot of TV other than baseball, football, SportsCenter, YES network, MSG, ESPN Classic, and ESPN2. So what I'm saying is – I don't watch a lot of TV outside of sporting events. And now that baseball season is over, I really don't watch TV that much.
It seems that the majority of the programming is geared towards the dim-witted and young (or young and dim-witted) – with all of these reality shows and teenage WB programs (The OC, Smallville, One Tree Hill). The only shows I seem to enjoy are these Law & Order and CSI franchises (although, Law & Order isn't the same without Angie Harmon). But I don't really know when these shows are on, so it's hit or miss whenever I catch them.
But one show that I recently realized that I really enjoy is NBC's Scrubs. That is one show that I will always watch if I happen to stumble upon it during my channel surfing. It's weird, because I haven't heard much of a buzz about this show. I know it's been on for a few seasons (3rd season?) but I can confidently say that this is right up there with some of the funniest shows in TV history.
I realized this last night (note to self: Scrubs is on Tuesday nights) when I sat down and managed to catch it right as it started. As I watched it, I must have laughed a half dozen times even before the opening theme song even started. You know how they do those lead in scenes before the show officially starts? I laughed 6 times (and I'm not talking about a chuckle, I'm talking about a roll over on the couch and hold my stomach type laugh) before the show even started! I continued laughing throughout the entire 30 minutes. Thank goodness it's only a half-hour show. I don't think I could handle anything longer.
I won't even try to explain why it's so funny. I'll just recommended you try it out (if you haven't already) on Tuesday nights.
