Happy

Just noticed it's Keith Richards birthday, so I had to hop online and wish him good tidings on his 61st trip 'round the calendar. The human riff has written so many perfect guitar lines that my ears are forever indebted to him.

But it's also the "most wonderful time of the year" and not just because Santa Claus is coming to town. I just went to my first Steeler game in ten years and my boys eeked out a win. It's been an amazing season to be a Steeler fan, so I'm glad I got to be a part of it. I really like Giants Stadium because every seat has a good view of the action and half the people there were decked out in Pittsburgh gear so good vibes were plentiful.

And Spitball played a fun gig last night at the Continental. It was a little sloppy, but we had really good energy and I got some of the best compliments ever about my playing (or actually about the way I played). The crowd was small though, so that was a bummer, but half way through the set a punk rocker came up and started doing the monkey mosh - hands hanging low, elbows and arms swinging wildly while skanking with his legs (Mike Walls came out and took some photos and told us he was ready to take the guy out if he'd swung anywhere near him). I saw the guy walking upstairs after the show and I told him his dancing was inspirational. He looked over at me and curtly said, "man, that shit wasn't nearly fast enough." Which was the perfect compliment in my book because that standard 1-2-3-4 old school punk rock is soooo boring to me. So thanks. Then, after the show I met a sexy girl at a party and she gave me her card and told me I should get in touch. Rock & roll.

So that's the story. I'm looking forward to going to Ohio next week, but I'm standing by my plans to boycott spending any money on gifts in the state the went red but should've gone blue. Happy holidays, merry Christmas, crazy Kwanzaa & Hanukkah to everyone. And for those of you who happen to stop by and read this blog everyone now and then, I say thanks, send good tidings and hope that I'll have something good to give you in the two oh oh five.

Peace y'all.......

Well I never kept a dollar past sunset,
It always burned a hole in my pants.
Never made a school mama happy,
Never blew a second chance, oh no

I need a love to keep me happy,
I need a love to keep me happy.
Baby, baby keep me happy.
Baby, baby keep me happy.

Always took candy from strangers,
Didn't wanna get me no trade.
Never want to be like papa,
Working for the boss ev'ry night and day.

I need a love to keep me happy,
I need a love, baby won't ya keep me happy.
Baby, won't ya keep me happy.
Baby, please keep me

The Question of U

Ok - just a couple of things.

1) I've heard the term "haymakers" more in the past 2 weeks than ever before. What exactly is it and why is it called that?

2) Why is it that something can be perfectly legal in one location on planet Earth and illegal in another? I was just in Amsterdam for my birthday this past weekend and find it hard to believe that getting inside a tubular object with wings was the main difference in whether I could be arrested for whatever it was that I was doing.

3) Why is it that when Giambi claims he was not doing steroids he was an MVP player, and after he admitted to doing steroids he was an often ailing, sub career player? Yeah, I know he was probably doing them during his MVP season but couldn't admit it for fear that they'd take away his award. But it's still a good question to ask. And personally, I don't believe that testifying under oath - through the force of a subpoena - about doing something that gave you an unfair advantage during a game makes you a stand-up guy.

4) Why do I always wait for the last minute?

So what is the answer 2 the question of u
what do I look 4, what shall I do?
Which way do I turn when I'm feeling lost?
if I sell my soul, now what will it cost?
Must I become naked? No image at all?
Shall I remain upright? Or get down and crawl?

All of the questions in my life will be answered
when I decide which road 2 choose
what is the answer 2 the question of u?
