Name:
Alexander Washburn
Location: Ft. Lauderdale, Florida (but my heart
and CD collection are still in NYC)
DOB: Over three decades ago
Bio: It
was a cold, snowy night in New York City when Alexander Washburn was brought into this world. From the outset, it
was clear from those closest to him that someday he would
have a holiday or some type of infectious disease named
after him.
He
spent his formative years in New Jersey doing what kids
in their formative years in New Jersey do: seeing how
many keg party’s one could attend before curfew.
His first music concert were the Beastie Boys, a fact
he loves to point out. However, Mr. Washburn always fails
to reveal the real reason the Beasties were his first
show: his parents wouldn’t let him go see Duran
Duran earlier that year because it was on a school night.
If
you ask anyone they’ll be quick to tell you that
college was a success. Mr. Washburn learned many things
in college the most important being that arrested and
convicted are two entirely different things. The other
important lesson college taught Mr. Washburn was that anything
he did in those four years (OK, five) would have no baring
on how successful or unsuccessful he would be in the future.
Post-college
life bought some important jobs: an aide on Capitol Hill,
advisor to a Presidential candidate. And he has held some
not so important jobs. Like the job Mr. Washburn held for
six months in 2002 which was basically once a week going
down to the bank to cash his unemployment check. It was
hard work but only Mr. Washburn or someone with an eerily
close signature could do it.
