Bio (2002):
The things I enjoy most in life is good music and good
sporting events. Few things are as beautiful as a Yankees-Red
Sox matchup on a Saturday afternoon, or a lost Replacements
tune segueing into a Velvet Underground classic. You can
only imagine what would happen if I saw a Yankees-Red
Sox highlights reel, put to a Replacements song.
I am a big music fan, but don't really have a favorite
band or artist. I own almost every Clash and Replacements
CD, if that means anything. I'm a big film fan, but only
own four movies – Bull Durham, The Commitments,
Army of Darkness, and The Matrix. I enjoy good writing
and think John Grisham should be beaten senseless by one
of his own hardcovers. I'm a fan of the spy genre and
enjoy Nelson Demille's stuff.
I've got a lot of strong beliefs and convictions, but
they're mostly about stupid and unimportant things (i.e.,
the designated hitter is ruining baseball, weathermen
should work on commission, retired people shouldn't be
allowed in the mall on the weekends).
Politically, I'm a registered cynic. I believe there's
a reason the word "politics" has become a dirty
word and has a negative connotation associated with it
– because it's a business of liars and cheats. I
think the two team system is most of the problem. There
should be more teams.
I don't believe in aliens, ghosts, voodoo, the supernatural,
palm reading, global warming, or professional wrestling.
I think greed, stupidy and boredom run rampant, and is
the root of all that is wrong in the world. Yet I am perplexed
as to why the greedy, the stupid and the boring, seem
to excel in the world.
I'm married to a beautiful girl, have two healthy kids,
have a house in the country and a truck. Life really doesn't
get any better. Anything more, and it gets complicated.
Although, I have found that my list of "things-to-worry-about"
has changed dramatically over the past few years. I use
to worry about money, my fantasy career, my actual career,
my relationship, my health, the ozone layer, and world
peace. Now all I worry about is getting my kids
in bed at a reasonable hour so I can sit on the couch
in peace and quiet and catch a baseball game.
